"Do What You Love with Joe Montana," contest winner.
November 2011Back in May we launched "Do What You Love with Joe Montana," a contest inviting Americans to share empowering joint health success stories for a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip to spend time doing their favorite activity with Joe Montana. We had over 17,000 interactions with the contest and hundreds of story entries!
And the winner is ..... Pete Zeegers from Sebring, Florida! Pete, always an athlete -- he played baseball at the University of Oklahoma -- developed shoulder, elbow and knee problems as he got older. Then he saw a new product called Joint Juice and decided to try it. It worked so well he used it regularly. "My whole body felt good," Pete said. "I couldn't believe how this great tasting little drink could work so well but it did. I told everyone I knew about it. I even noticed that the Wal-Mart started running out. It was little selfish but I had to stop telling people so I could keep my supply."
The whole weekend turned out to be great. The Zeegers got in on a Wednesday and met with the crew from Joint Juice at Candlestick Park. We'll let Pete tell the rest:
As they were enjoying themselves in the home team locker room, Pete caught a motion out of the corner of eye. He turned, and "here came Joe walking in by himself. He was down to earth and didn't have an entourage."
Montana took the Zeegers on a tour of the stadium, telling them inside stories, and then walked them to the field through the same tunnel the team uses on game day. Outside, surrounded by cameras, Pete and Montana started to throw a football.
"He's still got it," said Pete in awe, "tight spirals right to my chest. Me, two out of three throws were wounded ducks. But Joe caught every one, even though he sometimes had to lean forward. He took his time with us, asked me about my coaching; it was just the coolest thing."
Special thanks to all the folks at Candlestick who made Pete feel like a star!
